Agito Uprising: Ciella Expert Guide

By KeelusBR

Boss Abilities

Veil

Essentially Ciella’s Mist Veil attack. She camouflages herself, with her silhouette being barely visible. After a brief moment she reappears and does a wide range attack towards the center of the map.

Vulnerability

Ciella’s attacks will inflict Vulnerable on characters, which makes them take increased damage. This affliction can stack up to 3 times.

Commonly Used Characters

Suggested Weapon: Agito Weapons are the top choice for all characters. HDT520 weapons are viable choices and are sufficient for clearing. HDT524 isn’t completely necessary for this fight, and Chimera weapons are passable as well. For supporting characters like Tobias, the choice of weapon wouldn’t be much of an issue.

Suggested WP: The Fire of Hates, the Valentines limited Poison Punisher print, is used in most setups. Plaguebringer may substitute for players who do not have Fires of Hate.

Suggested Dragon: For the vast majority of the characters, Vayu is the top dragon of choice. AC011 Garland is not as good due to the unavoidable damage from the AOE Blast. For support characters, Freyja is helpful for the skill haste and the Regen dragon skill, especially in healerless comps. Ariel also works for supports, but the Strength up passive wouldn’t make much difference due to them not being DPS.

Suggested Submembers: Dragonyule Xainfried is the best submember for DPS units. He brings Skill Damage from his main coability, as well as Dragon Claws chain coability, which gives permanent Strength up for each Shapeshift.

Hawk

With his mana spiral, he is the best DPS for the fight, and also enabling Poison.

Suggested WP: Forest Bonds/Resounding Rendition + The Fires of Hate.

Suggested Dragon: Vayu.

Note: His kit works similar to Nefaria. Every other S2 gives Hawk an enhanced FS, which can fill up S1 gauge completely and half of the S2 gauge. For his combo, S2>FS>S1>FS>S1>S1>S2, and make sure to use S1 before the arrows from the FS come down so the SP charges after S1 is used. For the best opening rotation, at the start of the fight, start attacking without rolling, and S1 should be ready as Bolts from Above comes down. S1 to iframe the entire Bolts from Above duration. Use S3 if Agito bow is equipped, and S2 should be ready for iframe as Ciella prepares to charge.

Tobias

The best support for the fight, who can also help with Poison.

Suggested WP: A Dog’s Day + Castle Cheer Corps.

Suggested Dragon: Freyja.

Note: Some people forget the fact that his S2 deactivation can inflict Poison. This is helpful in the triple Hawk comp since Hawk needs time to get their enhanced FS to poison. Tobias really only needs to help poison in two parts of the fight: first at the start of the fight, and second at the start of Phase 2, where the rest of the team would shapeshift. To poison, simply activate S2 and then deactivate S2 right away. When Poison is not needed, spam C5+FSF and S1. Freyja is important for healing when running a team comp without healer.

Grace

Top choice healer, with her FS Cleanse as well as the Life Shield.

Suggested WP: Study Rabbits + Chocolatiers.

Suggested Dragon: Azazel.

Note: Grace is a very strong unit since she essentially increases the team’s maximum health from her Life Shield. With defense buffs it is even possible to tank Floor of Despair directly, which is very helpful in Solo/Semi-Auto comps. Furthermore, she can use her FS to cleanse the defense up from Karmic Shield. Do note that her FS takes quite a while to fully charge, so be aware of any incoming attacks while cleansing. When Cleanse is not needed, regular C5+FSF is sufficient. Chocolatiers is good on her since Ciella does an unavoidable AOE Blast at the start of the fight, and since she cannot actually heal, the team would not be able to regain health, hence losing the full health bonus from The Fires of Hate.

Sylas

Provides good DPS,  Poison, as well as various buffs.

Suggested WP: Resounding Rendition + The Fires of Hate.

Suggested Dragon: Vayu.

Lin You

A decent DPS for the fight.

Suggested WP: The Wyrmclan Duo/Kung Fu Masters + The Fires of Hate.

Suggested Dragon: Vayu.

Note: Lin You’s S2 will enhance S1 during the duration, no matter how many times S1 is used. Before using S2 make sure that S1 is already charged to maximize the number of times the enhanced S1 is used. Usually 2-3 S1 can be fit into the duration of S2. Do be careful with S1 though, since she may inflict Sleep but is not very consistent. If Ciella is slept as she prepares Cryogenic Meteor, she may end up not shooting out the icebergs, making the team tank through the two Floor of Despairs. If she is slept during the first Floor of Despair or between the two, she would still use the second Floor of Despair while the iceberg despawns. The fact that the Sleep is not consistent makes it harder to control when she sleeps, and hence may result in team wipes.

Ranzal

Provides Life Shield as well as Cleanse for the fight. Mostly used in Solo/Semi-Auto teams.

Suggested WP: Resounding Rendition + The Fires of Hate.

Suggested Dragon: Vayu.

Note: Ranzal’s Life Shield isn’t as strong as Grace’s, so he is used more for his DPS and his Cleanse. Useful in Solo/Semi-Auto comps when Lin You is not an option.

Lowen

A healer which also helps with Bog heal, and provides defensive buffs.

Suggested WP: Castle Cheer Corps + Pipe Down.

Suggested Dragon: Freyja.

Note: Lowen’s Bog heal is helpful for non Bog resistant characters such as Hawk and Sylas.

Templar Hope

Great Solo/Semi-Auto support, providing defense buffs and enables Doublebuff compositions.

Suggested WP: A Dog’s Day + A Wish Upon the Yuletree/Odd Sparrows.

Suggested Dragon: Freyja.

Note: Hope is a must for Semi-Auto comps, since his S1 Defense buff provides survivability to the AIs, and also helps with Healing Doublebuff. Freyja is helpful for the Skill Haste as well as the added health.

Team Composition

Each team should generally include Poisoner. Cleanse is not necessary but helpful.

Sample Comp

Tobias, Hawk, Sylas, Grace.

Note: Tobias for Strength up, Hawk and Sylas for Poison and DPS, and Grace for Life Shield and Cleanse. Hawk and Sylas can be interchanged with other DPS units, and Tobias can also be swapped with other DPS units.

Hawk Comp

Tobias, Hawk, Hawk, Hawk.

Note: Tobias would be the one responsible for healing with Freyja, so pay attention to the team’s health.

Solo/Semi-Auto Comp

Hope, Sylas, Lin You, Grace.

Note: Hope is used for his S1 Defense Up, Grace for her Life Shield and Cleanse, while Sylas and Lin You provide survivability from coabilities while also bringing DPS. Lowen is also a viable healer but less consistent compared to Grace. Use Grace helper for added Life Shield during Floor of Despair. With Hope, DPS should bring Valiant Crown for doublebuff. For manual solo comps, swap out Hope for DPS or Support units, such as Hawk, and change the prints accordingly.

Moves and Mechanics

Note: The moves are listed in the order they first appear. Some moves will reference other moves that I have not introduced yet, and the gifs will not necessarily show the first appearance of the respective moves.

AOE Blast

Target: Mapwide

Iframeable: No

Ciella charges up, and does a mapwide unavoidable blast.

Bolts from Above

Phase 1

Target: All players

Iframeable: Yes

Ciella locks on all players, and shoots 4 arrow rains that follow each player.

Phase 2

Target: All players

Iframeable: No

Ciella shoots 6 unavoidable arrow rains instead, at a faster rate.

Rebounding Arrows

Phase 1

Target: Farthest Player

Iframeable: Yes

Ciella aims at the farthest player, and shoots 4 slow moving water arrows that rebound.

Phase 2

Target: Farthest Player

Iframeable: Yes

Ciella shoots 6 water arrows instead.

Charge Attack

Target: Farthest Player

Iframeable: Yes

Ciella targets the farthest player, and charges in that direction.

Spin Attack

Phase 1

Target: None

Iframeable: Yes

Ciella charges up, and does a spin attack in a small radius. Inflicts Bog.

Phase 2

Target: None

Iframeable: Yes

Ciella charges up, and does a spin attack with a bigger radius and 2 smaller water tornadoes that spin along at the edge of the spin circle.

Summon Crystal Arrow

Target: All players

Iframeable: No

Ciella targets all players, and shoots crystal arrows. These arrows can be damaged and broken, and if left until Frigid Beam without breaking, they will explode and shoot icicles in 6 directions.

Frigid Beam

Phase 1

Target: None

Iframeable: No

Ciella moves to the center of the map. Starting from 6 o’clock, Ciella fires a continuous beam of ice, and slowly spins a full circle. If any Crystal Arrows are leftover, they will explode.

Phase 2

Target: None

Iframeable: No

Ciella instead shoots two beams in the direction of 3 and 9 o’clock.

Mist Veil

Phase 1

Target: Farthest Player

Iframeable: No

Ciella camouflages herself, moves in a circle and reappears at 12 o’clock. Shoots a wide unavoidable area towards the center shortly after reappearing.

Phase 2

Target: Farthest Player

Iframeable: No

Ciella camouflages herself, moves to 6 o’clock, to either 3 or 6 o’clock, then to the opposite side, and finally reappears. Also shoots a wide area towards the center.

Charged Shot

Target: Farthest Player

Iframeable: Yes

Ciella aims at the farthest player, charges up and shoots a beam.

Karmic Shield

Target: Self

Ciella summons a shield that gives her permanent 8% Defense up.

Cryogenic Meteor

Target: All Players

Iframeable: No

Ciella summons ice meteors on all players, forming icebergs.

Floor of Despair

Target: None

Iframeable: No

Ciella summons a big tide, either in the 6 o’clock direction or in the 3 o’clock direction. This attack can be avoided by standing behind an iceberg. Usually comes in a pair.

Battle Overview

Note: The following overview lists the general order of the moves throughout the fight. However, unlike HDT’s where moves are scripted with time, Agito move patterns are based on health. Some moves will appear to be skipped and some extra moves will appear to be added. This overview is what an average clear should be experiencing.

Phase 1

Ciella’s human form. After the health bar is depleted, she will transform to her harpy form and move to Phase 2.

AOE Blast

Tobias should help initiate Poison at the start of the fight.

Bolts from Above

Long skills can help iframe the entire duration, otherwise roll out and make sure to not cut your teammates off.

Rebounding Arrows

A good place to dodge the arrows is in the middle of the 4 arrows. Usually the rebounds will directly go back to Ciella, so the middle area will be safe. However, sometimes the arrows will bounce off in different directions so pay attention.

Charge Attack

Spin Attack

Summon Crystal Arrow

Try to group up before Ciella summons the arrows, so players can break the arrows together easily.

Rebounding Arrows

Frigid Beam

Go in a clockwise direction to dodge the beam.

Mist Veil

In Phase 1, Ciella will always reappear at the top of the map. Just wait at that location and she will reappear. For healerless runs, usually the first dragon gauge will be filled around here, so transform and use Freyja skill here to heal the team.

Charge Attack

Spin Attack

Charged Shot and so on

Long range units need to be wary of the Charged Shot, especially since this attack does not have an obvious prep animation. Pay attention to the minimap, and when you see Ciella change direction towards you, roll twice to the side to dodge the attack, or time your skill to iframe the attack.

Phase 2

Ciella freezes herself in ice, and transforms into her harpy form.

Instant OD + AOE Blast

Tobias players should be prepared to poison as soon as she exits her immunity frames. Other players can dragon during her transformation to tank the blast damage, especially for healerless runs.

Karmic Shield

Cleansers should prepare to remove the Defense up buff from Ciella.

Cryogenic Meteor

The position of the icebergs does not matter too much, so just make sure to roll out of the way as the ice meteors come down.

Floor of Despair *2

Pay attention to the ground, where there would be arrows indicating the direction of the waves. Hide behind any iceberg to avoid the attack.

Bolts from Above

Players can transform here and skill to tank through the duration of this attack.

Karmic Shield

AOE Blast

Charge Attack

Charged Shot

Charge Attack

Spin Attack

This attack is not easy to dodge, especially for melee units who would have a hard time if they try to leave the attack radius. Leave a skill up to iframe, or just tank the attack if your character is bog resistant. This is also roughly the time where she should be entering break.

Summon Crystal Arrow

After the previous Spin Attack, or after she exits break, make sure to gather close together so the arrows can be broken quickly.

AOE Blast

Frigid Beam and so on

This attack is harder to dodge than the Phase 1 counterpart, since she now shoots the beam from both sides. The best way to handle this attack is to shapeshift, and if there is not enough gauge, just stay close to the center and carefully move along with the beams, but make sure to not stand too close so that you accidentally touch the beams.

Solo Clear Walkthrough

Semi-Auto Setup

Suggested Weapons: Agito or HDT weapons.

Suggested WP: The Fires of Hate/Plaguebringer + Valiant Crown on DPS, A Dog’s Day + A Wish Upon a Yuletree on Hope, and Study Rabbits + Castle Cheer Corps on Grace.

Suggested Dragon: Frejya on Hope, Azazel/Nidhogg/High Zodiark on Grace.

Suggested Helper: Grace.

Note:

Most of the fight can be autoed, except Floor of Despair and sometimes Bolts from Above in Phase 2. The main issue for Floor of Despair is that the AIs will not try to dodge behind the iceberg, which usually results in one or more units dying. During Cryogenic Meteors, transform into Freyja and heal the team. Right after the first Floor of Despair, use helper Grace to tank the second wave of Floor of Despair. Make sure that Hope’s health is full before using Grace helper, as it uses your leader’s health for Life Shield instead of the helper’s health. Any other time during Phase 2, if Hope ever goes into red health, just use your Freyja to heal back to full.

Manual Setup

The same setup as the Semi-Auto Setup can be used, otherwise Hope and/or Grace can be swapped out for other DPS or support. Make sure to swap out Valiant Crown and the doublebuff prints when Hope is not on the team.

Note:

Same as the Semi-Auto, Floor of Despair might wipe your team if not prepared. Make sure your AIs are not sticking on Ciella and DPSing by moving away from her and hiding behind the iceberg. Otherwise, use Freyja and helper Grace if available.

Easy & consistent Lowen Auto x2 guide for Expert Ciella

by u/Teyah on reddit

   – Templar Hope with Freyja & Agito sword (0UB OK).

    – Any good DPS with a defensive coab, Eg. Sylas, with Agito or HDT2 MUB lance. Other good DPS with defensive utility should work just fine, given that the Lowen build can succeed with Aeleen, the weakest of all wind DPS.

    – A good bow DPS, Eg. Hawk, for skill haste coab. HDT2 MUB preferred for AI DPS, HDT2 0UB or Agito MUB bow OK. Hawk is ideal for both Skill Haste and Defense on his coabs, plus very high DPS even without stun.

    – Lowen with HDT2 0UB staff or CT2 MUB staff. Agito staff not OK due to loss of uptime -> lower healing / DEF buffing.

    – Grace helper to ensure survival at Cryogenic Meteor + Flood.

The way this works is by using A Wish Upon the Yuletree and A Dog’s Day to give skill haste, buff time, and Healing Doublebuff to allow a tanky Hope to stack up to 10 stacks of regen on himself, making him virtually unkillable. This combines with Hawk (or other bow) providing further Skill Haste, to allow for frequent iframes that keep the team’s uptime (and DPS) high. And with both Templar Hope and Lowen providing DEF buffs, the risk of death is minimal to anything outside of the volcano + flood mechanic.

Auto Play will get up to the first set of Bolts from Above in phase 2 with 100% success. To reliably proceed past this point without relying on RNG, you manually play out the following steps:

  1. Full Auto until after the phase 2 transform sequence. After the first AoE blast, use Grace helper skill during Karmic Shield. This allows your AI team to survive the first wave of the flood which comes shortly after.
  2. Dodge roll the Bolts from Above that happen shortly after Karmic Shield. (This step may be skipped if your AI DPS is high enough)
  3. When you see the text for “Cryogenic Meteor” immediately mash on the dragon button to transform to Freyja, then use her Skill right away.
  4. Swipe yourself to safety behind the volcano. Once the first tidal wave passes, call Grace helper again, then swipe to safety for the next wave. The shield, Freyja regen + your lead character not getting hit ensures your AI will survive the second hit, and the shield will protect you from Bolts from Above which happens right afterwards. See here for examples on performing this step: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
  5. Monitor the team loosely – at about 50% HP, Ciella will either use another Meteor -> Volcano -> Flood, or will use Frigid Beam. If she uses the Beam, don’t worry, you’ll survive without intervention. Once she uses the 2nd Cryogenic Meteor, repeat steps 3 and 4.

That’s it – Ciella should die shortly after the 2nd Flood or Frigid Beam sequence. If things have somehow gone south, you can still try to salvage the run by calling Freyja as needed.
