
A fatal disease that affects rabbits has been found in Singapore
The Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease is highly contagious, acute and fatal.
Pet owners should
- Minimise contact between their rabbits with visitors and other rabbits
- Practise good personal hygiene
- Keep the home and environment of the rabbits clean
- Bring your pets to the vet if you notice anything unusual
WHAT IS RABBIT HAEMORRHAGIC DISEASE?
The incubation period is 1 – 5 days
Symptoms may include anorexia, dullness, prostration, nervous signs, groans and cries, or respiratory signs such as breathing difficulties or discharge from the nose. Rabbit may die within 1-3 days.
There is no specific cure for this disease.
Do not worry as it only affects rabbits
